Students Against Starbucks
Students Against Starbucks is a student-led movement standing in solidarity with Starbucks Workers United baristas, who are fighting for a fair union contract.

Our Story
College students have supported baristas in their fight for a union contract ever since the beginning. Students Against Starbucks began in 2023, when students across the country started speaking out on campus in support of Starbucks baristas and demanding their universities cut ties with the coffee giant until it bargained a fair contract with its union baristas.
Over the past two years, college students have made it clear that we have the power to enact real change when we raise our voices. Thanks to the activism of Cornell students, there is no longer a Starbucks on their campus. After college students across the country gave Starbucks a resounding “F” for its treatment of workers in a nationwide day of action last year, the company returned to the bargaining table a week later with Starbucks Workers United (SBWU).
After nine months of progress at the bargaining table, Starbucks recently backtracked on their commitments to a path forward with the union, refusing to finalize a fair contract with baristas.

College students are one of the key demographics fueling Starbucks’ mult-billion dollar business – it’s time we reminded the company’s executives that we won’t let our tuition dollars or our hard earned money go towards supporting Starbucks’ bad behavior. Starbucks must finalize a fair contract with its union baristas now!
